How to Make Your Own Mobile Umbrella

Whether it's used for keeping off the rays of the sun or used in a down pour of rain an umbrella is one item that comes in handy.  So it's perfect for a #30DaysWild creation considering weather and 'u' is the letter of the week in Karen of Two Tiny Hands #ABC123Challenge .

To Create Your Own Mobile Umbrella You Will Need:

• Decorative Paper
• Scissors
• Paper plate
• Pva Glue
• Tape - of various kinds
• String or Ribbon

Now for the Fun Part

Locate some paper plates we had some left over from our jellyfish make.  Now fold one plate in half and cut a slit right down the middle leaving a little gap at the end. Then take the other part of the plate and cut a slit running up it again leaving a gap. Once this is done slot them together and tape it all in place. 

Now comes the messy part. Apply lots of glue to the sides of the paper plate and apply decorative paper to the sides. I had some paper left over from our paper lantern make for my daughter to choose from. My daughter seemed to love massaging the glue into the paper plates. However, if you don't like to get too messy and dislike peeling glue off your fingers then why not opt for applying it with a paint brush or use double sided tape instead.

Of course every umbrella needs a handle to hold right? So I created a simple one from cardboard and decorated it with some tape we had left over from a Christmas make. Then finally I created a hole in the top of the umbrella so it could be hung up. There you have it one umbrella mobile tailored to our fancy.

Ok so it might not be particularly practical but it sure was a lot of fun to make and play with afterwards.
