Can it really be that time of the month again?! The time when I share with you our highlights for the month of July. I know it's been said repetitively but wow these months are zooming past and part of me feels that before long my babies will be spreading their wings and entering preschool -sob. While I'm reminded everyday how much my eldest is looking forward to this I am hoping that this is the right decision.
Anyway lets get on with talking about all the good stuff shall we?
An Art Project
We've carried on with the alphabet challenge hosted by Karen of Two Tiny Hands and we are one letter away from finishing it. We've had lots of fun creating things in line with it and my eldest has got a rough idea of what the alphabet is.
Homeschooling
Gardening
The children have also been outside helping out with the gardening. As a lot needed cutting back in our garden bags were soon filled and heading out the garden. The girls grasped on to what we were up to and tried to help. The bags of foliage were so light that when the girls saw us heading out with bags they soon copied. Their work was rewarded by a kids 2 seater hammock appearing in the garden
Making Ice Lollies
All this work in the garden was thirsty work so the girls also made ice lollies with their Dad. In fact one morning I woke to eldest making it known she wanted one of her creations. I'm sure she had been dreaming about them. It's a shame they don't freeze instantly after you've made them so you can eat them straight away and repeat the process.Creating a New Porch
July has also seen a new porch underway as our first was so tiny that it just hasn't been functional. After being quoted ridiculous prices by places we've decided to do it ourselves with a lot of help from my father.
Peter Rabbit Exhibition
In the middle of July hubby had a staycation. However, we have not been at home much at all. We hopped over to Woodstock and took in the Peter Rabbit exhibition which is sure to be a hit with all family members.
Spotting a Hare
While we were at the museum we also saw another temporary exhibition. For we caught sight of one of the hare's that are part of the Cotswolds Hare Trail. I do love the creativity that has gone into creating these.
Geocache Trails
We have also done a couple of walks in the countryside and as we clocked up the number of finds we have collected all 13 Hidden Creature souvenirs.
Beside the Sea in Bournemouth
Before hubby returned to work we had just enough time to fit in a visit to Bournemouth beach. The girls loved running in and out of the water, building sandcastles with their Dad and having a picnic on the beach. They also got to try out their new scooters and we all had dinner in a Harvester on the way home.
That's what our July has looked like in a nutshell. What did you get up to?

This looks like such an enjoyable month! I'm loving the photos :)

Hi Helena, where does the time go? It looks like you had a nice July. I take my hat off to anyone who homeschools! I enjoyed that preschool time when playing educational games was enough, but after that I'd probably have been clueless. Your little girl looks so tiny lugging that bag, but their hard work paid off, I bet they love the hammock. I've been making smoothie ice lollies recently and I've also wished they would freeze instantly. The best thing about making our own is knowing exactly what goes into them and it's fun too... I do love the fun, colourful creations that get dotted around the UK for fun. That hair looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for popping over and sharing July with #keepingitreal.
xx
It sounds like you have done some really great things. I have been meaning to make some ice lollies you have just reminded me. #mainylovessummer

It sounds like you have really achieved so much this month. You've also inspired me to make ice lollies at the next opportunity! x
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet the Peter Rabbit exhibition was a lot of fun! And, there really isn't anything better than an ice lolly on a hot day - especially if it's one you've made yourself! #LikedandLoved
