Topsy Hairstyle {The Ordinary Moments}

This year I have decided to join Donna who blogs at What the Redhead Said and her wonderful linky 'The Ordinary Moments'. It's a lovely way in which to capture the everyday simple activities that our children get up to and observe just how much they grow over time. This week I am focusing in on the girls hair.

My daughters have been blessed with lots of hair and youngest even has little curls in hers reflecting she really is her Daddy's girl. For a while I have left their hair to do it's own thing and therefore eldest has had hair that resembles a lions mane. Of course the hair at the front of their heads has had to be cut so they could see where they were going. I had considered not giving them a fringe at first but it soon became necessary and so have cut it but have left the rest to grow.

Having seen other little ones and how they have their hair I decided to buy a few hair bands, clips and things for the girls. Of course most of the time due to it not being a natural part of their hair they are soon pulling the things out. However, my eldest has come to have her hair clips and things in the longest and as she likes the programme Topsy and Tim we have dubbed the hairstyle she likes most a Topsy. So she will come to me and tell me how she wants her hair and enjoys seeing the end result. She is just like me when it comes to having it brushed though often desiring the tangle teezer over any other brush.

What do you think? Do you have a favourite way of styling your child's hair?

  1. I found this stage where the hair was that inbetween length SO hard! It was all about LOTS of clips for me! x

  2. It is so difficult at this length. Won't take long until it's grown x

  3. I used to love having my hair done as a child, but I was the same about hair clips and bands, I hated them! I'm glad I have boys with short hair though, I have no talent for styling hair - my own is a disaster!
