My Family Adventures March

My Family Adventures March

This month we've hidden away trying to keep warm and cosy while the beast from the east has played with the weather outside. It's been bitterly cold, so cold you can almost feel it clinging hold of your chest. We all want to keep well or as well as it is possible. So we've kept warm drank loads of tea (me not the kids) and wrapped up warm going out when we've spotted blue skies and little to no cloud. Any outdoors snow session has been short lived even hubby didn't stay out in it too long.

The park is very small in our village so whenever we have access to the car we have headed into the town and had fun on all the things it has on offer bar the outdoor swimming pool and splash park. Two things that I'm sure we will enjoy when the summer weather returns once more. In the meantime eldest will happily run after the geese showing them who's in charge and show no fear on the climbing apparatus. While youngest will run around the park making a bee line for the swings and slide.

A stones throw away is another park that really buzzes during the summer and plays host to the odd summer event. It also is very close to a hotel used for weddings and other functions. It is easy to see why the happy couple may pop into the park for the odd photo among the ruins or flowers. It is simply beautiful.

We do not keep the girls on leads but rather let them roam free wherever they are. Often this will mean they head in different directions but not today they followed each other around and as they ran around the place I took up the camera and tried to capture their movements and thrill of freedom. There's something about the unstaged photo it is so natural and ultimately beautiful and their personalities shine through. It is not always easy to photo them though so I considered setting up the camera to look at the space my daughters would run into. I'm not sure whether setting the camera up in another mode such as sports would make all the difference. What do you think?

  1. Nice that y'all could enjoy the outdoors even with the cold temperatures. We had some lovely days of sunshine in March and some very stormy days as well. One of the days included a short hail storm. I'm ready for the hot weather to begin in Texas. We have had an unusually cold, for us, winter. #countrykids

  3. March has certainly been unseasonably cold for us too. We saw our first snow in years. Looks like you had some lovely adventures despite the cold. Lovely to see the girls out enjoying the snow and puddles and that does look like a beautiful park.

Happy Easter to you all and thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

  6. March certainly was a cold month. We never managed to get outside for long in the snow either. Love the photos of your girls having fun exploring. It does make it harder to get photos though when they want to head off in different directions! :-) #countrykids

  8. Lovely pictures, I find it hard to capture the moving child now and rarely share them on the blog! It has been bitterly cold hasn't it but we got no snow! We've done lots of visiting the park too in the blue skies when possible, so uplifting to get out from time to time! #countrykids

  10. I love your photos, really captured the joy as your girls explore. I am hoping the weather gets better soon. We're a fairly hardy bunch, but the constant grey and wet days is so depressing! Here's hoping April is a little sunnier. Thanks for sharing #AdventureCalling

  11. When the weather is grim it's always great to explore the green spaces close to home so having your park nearby is great. I agree though, leave the outdoor pool until the summer haha. Thanks for joining us on #adventurecalling. We'll be open again this evening for more new posts.
