Word of the Week: Love

In a week that has brought not one but three events. That's Shrove Tuesday, Valentines and Chinese New Years Day it would have been lovely to celebrate them all but Valentines has had the most love.

Word of the Week: Love

When we arrived at toddler group this week the girls were greeted by all things red. Foam hearts, pompoms, glitter, glue and stickers all took up residence on the table. Eldest had a great time playing with them and coming up with her own decor. It was a shame to put a stop to that play so when we got back home I put our youngest to bed and got out the craft things we have so that eldest could continue to create if she desired. Word of the Week: Love

Of course in this house it didn't stop at just craft. I  decided to decorate our living room with a spot of Valentines decor.. I had a scout around to see what things fit in with the theme and found this love sign I picked up a while ago. Then I saw that Home Bargains were selling these little tea light holders so bought a couple in white. Buying things in white means that it will come in handy for other seasons too such as Christmas. Then I bought a bunch of faux flowers from TKMaxx and teamed these up with my blue glass vases that I had for my wedding. The bunting pictured here came from Asda. I did swap it out on the day for a heart one from Poundland.

Date Night in a Basket

Of course it's always lovely to treat each other and so I took inspiration from a vlogger and came up with my own hamper. I put popcorn, maltesers and two dvds together in a basket and we cuddled up in front of the laptop watching Death in Paradise before falling asleep.

So that's it from me this week. What did you all get up to?

  6. Lovely Valentine decorations. We usually make more of an effort but our Daughter was at hospital the very next morning for an operation so we left it this year.

  9. Hi Helena, not being much of a romantic it was Shrove Tuesday that got all the love in this house. We ate pancakes until they coame out of our ears. I do like your mantelpiece, the pink roses against the blue backgdrop looks nice... I love your choice of a romantic film!
