Chatterboxes {Ordinary Moments}

Both my daughters bring me such joy and the odd bit of frustration every day we are together. The world is certainly a brighter place that they are in it and they are the reason for me getting up in the morning.

Chatterboxes {Ordinary Moments}

Recently I've been increasingly aware of how they communicate towards one another. While my eldest seems to have soaked up a number of words and turns these into short sentences. My youngest is a very noisy one that has no words that she can use. She is a  determined little one and likes things just so in her world. The dolly's must be in their prams and if her sister has something she wishes to get hold of she isn't afraid to let her know.

The other day they'd noticed some scooters and were keen to play on them but despite their being two she had to have the one her sister was on. As she's only 1 1/2 she can't tell her sister what she wants but oh my can she be vocal and make a lot of noise! It's frustrating to hear her sounding off but it must equally be frustrating for her as she can't communicate her needs in words yet.

Her older sister never seems to be short of words and can be quite the little talker. She runs to the phone and answers it and talks to her Grandma. As a child I shied away from talking on the phone and often thought I was going to say something silly like I'm wearing polka dot pants (I'm not by the way). So it's lovely that she practices her speaking and doesn't shy away like I did.

Her sister having seen us on the phone loves to locate the pretend phone at toddler group and talk on that. I have a feeling that these two will grow up to be little chatterboxes and confident with it.

  1. I love that even when they don't have the words children manage to communicate and get their message across. They sound like they work well together when it comes to communicating! x

  2. It sounds like they have a wonderful bond together. There are so many other ways of communicating that they manage to get their point across! #mmbc

  3. I love hearing my two chatter away too! Your two sound wonderful and clearly have a great relationship. My two are very different communicators - Max took a long time to communicate anything, but is now a little livewire, whereas Ben has been very vocal since he was tiny and has no problem making his wants and needs known!

  4. It is amazing that even so little they can communicate without words, but my two are big chatterboxes too and the words will come all too soon x #TheOrdinaryMoments

  5. Kipper is starting to talk but I forgot just how much they can say without words! We always knew what he wanted. And we really knew when he didn’t get what he wanted. #ordinarymoments x
