As the weather continues to be a law unto itself my hubby
and eldest daughter took full advantage of the sunshine yesterday with a
geocaching trip that took them along The Ridgeway.
These days we rarely leave home without packing a changing
bag and having a carrier to hand as little legs can’t toddle very far. The
things we pack in our changing bag
haven’t differed very much from the early baby days with the eldest except now
we pack for two and carry snacks too.
Today’s snacks were sent to us by Cow&Gate after I
applied for my eldest to be a Toddler Taste Tester. I was delighted when she
was chosen to taste these and was thrilled to see how big the hamper was.
What was in the
Hamper?
Inside there were four packets of snacks to take out with us
on day trips.
- Spinach Breadsticks
- Tomato & Herb Breadsticks
- Apple & Orange Rice Cakes
- Pear & Berries Rice Cakes
She also received some Super Yummies pouches:
- Mixed berries and coconut squeeze
- Apple and forest fruits yoghurt
- Strawberry, kiwi and banana squeeze
What’s on the
Packaging?
Not one for giving my children sweet snacks particularly as
I’m Type 2 Diabetic I was delighted to hear of their Super Yummies Promise of
No added salt or sugar. Of course there’s no getting away from sugar completely
in that fruit contains fructose but it’s great to know that Cow&Gate are
considerate of our little ones and thinking of their futures.
They also state on their packaging that they have worked
with mums and nutritionists in developing their products. Each packet and pouch
contains nutritional goodness whether it is part of their five a day, a source
of fibre or calcium. These packets and pouches are geared up to help your
little explorer from 12 months up feed themselves nourishing food that is right
for them.
The Verdict
According to Daddy the Toddler loved each and every rice
cake she devoured and even asked for more. With a future trip to France in
store come autumn and no doubt other day trips beforehand I will keep an eye
out for these delicious snacks in store.
What nutritional snacks do your little ones enjoy?

They sure were. Thanks for hosting Jayne.
Deletegood to start nutritious at that stage, as in a few years time, they start demanding more unhealthy snacks #triedtested
ReplyDeleteI do hope my children have a life long love of nutritious healthy food.
DeleteMy two are just obsessed with this type of snack - the breadsticks sound really nice so must try those! #twinklytuesday
ReplyDeleteShe has yet to try the breadsticks. She does love the ones at toddler group though.
