A Wander in the Wild

This month I am joining forces with the #30DaysWild campaign connecting with nature and learning about the wonderful world in which we live.

Field and Foliage

This morning I thought we’d brave the weather and take a stroll down a country path not far from us. The path is great for pushchairs, wheelchairs and learning to walk as it is so flat. It is also rather wide so passing people is not a problem. I let my daughter decide how far we were to walk and where she’d like to wander to an extent. She kept looking towards the muddy stream and there was no way I’d let her go in there!

She touched a wall.

Eldest discovering a wall

She peered through a gate and asked to be let through it by rocking it.

We saw an Anderson Shelter.

We admired the colours of the different plants growing in the area.

Foliage and flowers

And when her little legs became too tired to walk any more I put her back in her pushchair and we headed home for lunch.

Have you taken a walk on the wild side recently?

    1. That's great to hear. With my daughter being so young I don't like to go out in rain. Fortunately it stayed away.

  3. We have joined in the 30 days wild challenge too (even though we aren't in the UK) we love getting out and about and spending time at the beach and woods. Looks like a lovely walk and always good when it's pushchair accessible too for little legs. How cool that you saw an Anderson shelter! Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime 🎉

    1. That's the great thing about wildlife it's universal. Those places sound delightful. I find it strange there was one there as to me where we live is very much in land.

  4. I love walks like this. You can never be quite sure what you will find. A great way to build up her walking distance too. #CountryKids

    1. I think my daughter would agree with you that streams are great. Unfortunately, the one running through here was very muddy.

  8. I signed up to the 30 days wild too, but my oldest son has been under the weather so we've had time at the park every day instead.

It looks like your daughter had a great time and I'll be she slept well after all that exploring!

Thanks for joining #daysoutwithatoddler - see you next month!

    1. Sorry to hear that they've been poorly. You don't need to blog every day just consistently. Have you seen different things pop up in the park? ie. animals/festivals/plants etc?

It's good for everyone to get out of the house and have some fresh air.

  9. We are joining in with #30DaysWild too! It's a great excuse to get outside, not that I need it though. I love going on walks, great that you have a woodland walk with a good track for a buggy! We have to carry our little one. #countrykids

  11. I love letting the kids choose the way, they are surprisingly sure of which direction they want to go at a young age. It looks like she had a great time! Thanks for linking up to #Whatevertheweather
