Home Truly is Where the Heart is

I was looking back over some photos of our house the other day and was surprised to see how it has changed over time and truly become our home.

Sofa bed today

Yes home truly is where the heart is and it feels so good. Take the living room for instance which used to look like this:

Living Room as it used to be
Now the bookcase has gone. The baskets and their unit have gone upstairs into my daughter’s room and the plastic drawer storage now sits awaiting usage or to be sold in favour of something more in keeping.

Old Living Room
In its place are this wooden Traby Unit complete with canvas bins....

Unit used for daughter's toys

 and these bookshelves with doors.

Three bookcases were used to make this.

The sofa bed has been relocated to the other side of the room and another sofa bed takes its place. The glass table has been temporarily relocated and we've managed to source under bed storage on wheels. The perfect solution for storing our winter outerwear i.e... scarves etc.

Now all we need is a bit of inspiration to finish off a couple of the pieces. We don’t want to go too dark and have a whole room of black furniture so what do you think? How would you finish these projects?

  11. Have you had a nosey at the Maisons du Monde furniture? They have a modern retro collection that I've been lusting after which would go really well with your new sofa and bookcases :)
