Peter Rabbit Exhibition Woodstock Museum

There's something about reminiscing about the past and getting to pass on our love of literature to little ones. You can escape together and feel excited all over again. This is certainly the case with Peter Rabbit who outwits Mr Tod and escapes the clutches of Mr McGregor and his cat.

Peter Rabbit Exhibition Woodstock Museum

Since our visit to Lake Windermere where we saw where Beatrix Potter once lived. I have bought a compendium of the stories to share with the girls and once I spotted this exhibition I was excited to
take them to it.So with a hop and a jump we headed here while Daddy was on holiday.

Dare to Track Down a Dinosaur

Peter Rabbit Exhibition Woodstock Museum

Woodstock museum is a lovely place to visit. We have ventured here before to find a geocache guarded by a dinosaur. We checked on whether it had been since gobbled up by the dinosaur but it was still in place. My eldest has come to grow fond of the odd dinosaur since we visited the Trex at The National History Museum in London.

Catch A Glimpse of A Hare

This visit we also spotted a hare who'd made itself at home in the garden. This hare is one of many artistic creations on the Cotswolds  AONB Hare Trail to track down. I'd love to track down more but we will see if we can before they hop into hiding on 9 September.

Get up to Mischief and Mayhem

Peter Rabbit Exhibition Woodstock Museum

Like the Hare the Peter Rabbit exhibition is also only temporary. This fantastic exhibition has something for every Beatrix Potter lover whatever their age. There are illustrations, the thoughts of the author and memorabilia in showcases to interest the adults.

While the little ones are spoilt by activities to do. They can pick up a cuddly toy such as Mrs Tiggy Winkle or Squirrel Nutkin to accompany them for the duration of their visit and release their inner artist at the big table complete with coloured pencils. They can also create their own little letters to be posted in the pretend post box and play with the puppets in the little theatre and other toys.

Then just as the little ones think that is the end of the exhibition they are immersed in the characters' world. For there before them is a room full of activities that some of the characters' would play out. There's Mrs Tiggy Winkle's ironing to be done, carrots to be planted and Ginger and Pickles shop to run.

If you fancy visiting this fantastic free exhibition you'd better hop to it for it runs till 8 September.

  1. Never quite got over the Peter Rabbit story and that wonderful word "soporific" either. I really love how Beatrix Potter was inspired by things around her and this exhibition looks so much fun. #ThursdayTeam

  11. This exhibition looks so good! I really want to go and take my girls (especially as one is called Beatrix.) but it is so far away from us and I just don't think we will be able to make it before it closes. But never mind, it really does look great for all the family. Thank you for joining #ThursdayTeam
