There is no denying that we parent together (me and hubby). We are in it together and there's no bad cop good cop routine going on here. However, sometimes I get the feeling that he may be quicker to swoop in and tend to the girls diva qualities. While I know full well that both of them are capable of walking a fair distance now. For example, we all walk to toddler group together. The youngest of the family will sometimes pretend that she can't move anywhere not even an inch especially if mud is concerned. Instead she will call on her poor daddy to carry her over the mud as if she were a little princess.
She also is reluctant to leave his side and has taken to looking for him when he just leaves the room. She is distraught when she knows he has left for work getting rather upset. I try to distract her by doing things with her but feel for her as I'd love him home with us too sometimes.
So this week we've been really treated by his presence as he's had holiday to take and we've spent time all together. They go to the park with him, food shop with him and he is the one they call for in the night. Ok maybe it's only the little one that shouts for Dada from the comfort of her cot while eldest runs and jumps into our bed.
All good things come to an end though and as we end the week I know it's only a little time we have left together before he heads back to work and tends to the needs of others. So hubby if you are reading this we think the world of you and I'm so pleased we are working together as a team.

This is so sweet. My little boy is a big fan of daddy too!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had such a nice week. From experience, Dads are often soft where their daughters are concerned! :) But, I bet he loves every minute of it x
ReplyDeleteAww that is so sweet. Have a lovely Easter x
ReplyDeleteIt's so lovely to have everyone all together isn't it? We absolutely treasure that time. And I remember being exactly the same with my own dad - he'd always have carried me! :)
