Word of the Week: Decor

My word of the week this time has to be decor as I have been considering what the girls bedrooms will look like when they are finished and changing out the Winter decor in hope that Spring will soon be here.

We have stayed with family too this week as plaster has gone on to the walls. It has taken around a week to dry and we only stayed one night with family. Fortunately the girls have refrained from touching the walls and I've kept them downstairs most of the time. We kept the windows open slightly to let air circulate and thankfully didn't freeze.

Girls Bedroom Decor

Meanwhile I have been looking at Pinterest and getting inspired for decorating the girls' bedrooms. I've picked up a few things over the weeks such as this beautiful blanket in blue and pink originally from Dunelm for £2, I sourced the bird for £1 at a carboot sale, the cherry blossom canvas came from a charity shop and the picture frame I bought before the girls came along but have never used it. If you have read my Valentines post then you will be aware of the painted heart and I bought the last unicorn head from Poundland.

Spring Decor

I have also been inspired to change out my Valemtines decor with touches of Spring. I just love these picks that I picked up featuring eggs of various colours and I thought they looked great amongst the flowers. However, they also caught the eye of my eldest who decided they were 'Christmas eggs' and edible! She got a shock when she bit into one and discovered it was polystrene. I don't think she will be trying to eat them again.

So that's it from me this week. How has your week been?

  5. Great that the plastering dried without any issues of touchy fingers... I'm glad we had ours done, we hadn't moved in to the house yet - I'm not sure it would have gone too well with my boy!

Lots of lovely ideas for the girls rooms by the sounds of it, and I bet a splash of colour in the form of spring décor is happily welcomed right now at the tail end of winter. #WotW

  6. Lol, I can imagine that was quite a shock for your eldest! Good luck with getting the girls' bedroom decorated and glad you managed to get the plaster dried. We are trying to declutter ready to move the girls into their own bedroom so will have this all to come at some point in the next few months. #WotW

  7. We have been talking about updating our children's rooms lately. Mostly because we are running short on storage option. Love your spring decor, not sure that trying to eat the eggs was the best idea ;0) #WotW
