This year I have decided to join Donna who blogs at What the Redhead Said and her wonderful linky 'The Ordinary Moments'. It's a lovely way in which to capture the everyday simple activities that our children get up to and observe just how much they grow over time. This week I am focusing in on one thing everybody needs but doesn't always get much of - sleep.
I've always found it difficult to sleep and of course when babies come along they throw everything out of kilter. Sleep what is that? You may find them saying. With my daughter by my side in her basket the slightest rustle would wake me. In my tired state I'd end up questionimg what was in my room with me. Reassured that it was my gorgeous daughter I soon drifted off again but over the years I've got used to having lots of broken nights of sleep.
As my eldest has grown I've often thought it surreal that she's walking and talking and will wander into our room and curl up with you and fall asleep if you are. They seem to be very tuned into whether we are awake or asleep and will join you in whatever state you take up even if you'd like to try and get back to sleep.
To add to this the eldest has decided that she doesn't like her bed and that she'd quite like to fall asleep on ours instead. This means leaving her to fall asleep on ours and transferring her to her bed when we go up. Of course in the morning guess who's back with her sister yelling to be picked up out of her cot.
From the wake up calls from her sister to the transferring of eldest to her bed every night we will continue to figure out the best ways to get the girls off to sleep and get plenty of rest ourselves.

Ahh! They always looks so peaceful when they are asleep even if they are in our beds. hehehe
ReplyDeleteShe looks so peacefully asleep there. Disturbed nights seem an age away now I have teens and tween, although they are still early risers! #MMBC
ReplyDeleteYes mom's bed seems like the best place to sleep. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing quite so peaceful as a sleeping child is there? I love to watch mine as the dream. #mmbc
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like she knows exactly what she wants! We have the opposite that Troy likes to come into our room the minute he wakes up! x
ReplyDeleteAww how sweet. They do look so peaceful and angelic when they sleep xx
ReplyDeleteMy girls are straight into our room the second they wake up!
ReplyDeleteMonkey is the same and will sometimes fall asleep in our bed at the weekends. Although he’s too big for me to transfer him now. I’m a firm believer in doing what you need to do everyone gets to sleep! Xx #OrdinaryMoments
