Happy Third Birthday Eldest

This week my eldest turned three. Everyday our mini miracle continues to bring joy and brighten up the place with her enthusiastic, helpful and caring nature. 

The Caterpillar Birthday Cake {Ordinary Moments}

We decided to make her birthday cake a day in advance and she loved helping to coat the jam sponge in chocolate. Then add smarties, sprinkles and two sets of eyes. All caterpillars have two sets, one at the back and the other at the front right?

Never leave a baby to look after a cake! 

We left it on the table to set and that's when disaster struck - or rather her sister! Plunging her finger deep down into the centre of the sponge and cream, picking up a bit of chocolate on the way I imagine! Of course it wasn't long till we realised what she had done and moved it away as she cried out in protest. I've no doubt she thought it tasted good.

The next day we lit the cake and attempted to take photos of our eldest blowing out the candles. As you can see she was so excited and we lit the candles more than once. Her sister was equally pleased and finally got to have a proper piece of birthday cake too.

    aww they do look so happy in the photo, and of course caterpillars have two sets of eyes :) I remember when my Little Man decided to take a chunk out of his sister's birthday cake, just half hour before her birthday party, I had to do a quick cover up! I can't blame them, cake is nice :) #Wotw
