A Winter Walk in Oxfordshire

This time of year it's so easy to get cabin fever from being cooped up inside the house as the cold short days of winter have you reaching for warm blankets indoors rather than brave the elements outside. However, when the sun came out the other day we spied our chance to get out and fill our lungs with fresh air rather than dust.

Toddlers Come With Two Speeds

The walk kicked off at a slow pace with a hill to ascend. Of course toddlers come with only two speeds painfully slow where no amount of encouraging them to hurry up does it and secondly top speed where you struggle to catch up with your tiny tot athlete! During our walk we experienced both. 

The slow and painful ascent was followed by top speed over the wooden footpath that ran through the nature reserve. I think this was eldest's favourite part as she ran down the path only stopping briefly to look at the sign in the area.

Many of the geocaches found along the route were easily located and eldest had great fun discovering them. Her favourite being one in the form of a set of teeth that she tried to scare her little sister with.

Mud Glorious Mud!

It was certainly a very muddy walk with one of the country paths only distinguishable by a fence and bushes. So much of the ground was churned up that the little ones weren't happy and eldest was calling out that she needed a bath. Somehow we got through it though and were greeted by a view of the Dreaming Spires of Oxford.

Then we descended the hill. Arrived back at our car and drove home where we were greeted by lovely warm baths.
