At the beginning of last year I wrote a post entitled 'What will ignite and excite you in 2017'. I thought with it being the start of the new year I would take it upon myself to revisit that post and recap just what did ignite and excite me during the year. This is what I discovered.
Arts and crafts, books, walks and making our house a home have been the main things we've taken part in this past year.
De-cluttering has been an on going process in this house throughout the year. I'm pleased to read that I'm not alone in this and this post by The Daisy Pages entitled Decluttering - when does it end? sums up that we never come to the end of this activity! Some vloggers fill a box a month and send it on it's way so this is something I feel is doable. The home is an ongoing project ever evolving and has our heart.
So what will 2018 have in store for me and my family we will have to wait and see. I'm certainly hoping for lots of positives.

March
In March we headed to Camp Wilderness where we took part in a number of outdoor activities and met numerous other bloggers including the fantastic Talya from Motherhood the Real Deal.
April &May
In May we headed to Westonbirt Arboretum and fell in love with the place. Not only does it have the great Gruffalo trail but it is a great place to track the seasons.
June
We also took a break away to Windermere as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay that as soon as we got back hubby was desperate to get back there again. As for myself I would love to see the world.
July, August & September
Adventures are one thing we love to undertake as a family and we had plenty of those in France. We love learning about the place we (and our family) live in.
October
Two wonderful things happened to us in October that I thoroughly enjoyed. The first was BlogCamponBoard where I met several wonderful bloggers and was treated to a great day out.
Then later on in the month the family and I went to Roves Farm where we enjoyed their fireworks display.
November
In November we were treated to swimming lessons with Puddle Ducks.
December
Just before Christmas I was given the news that I didn't want to hear from my doctor. My sugar levels were through the roof! Therefore, all my blood cells appeared sticky and drunk on sugar! I'm angered by myself for over indulging on chocolate but also my genes too.
While food may feel like my nemesis right now. There are lots of lovely calorie free things I have found to treat myself too such as being invited to Blenheim Palace where we took a festive walk through their grounds. Kirstie's Handmade Christmas made a return to our screens and I enjoyed making our home all festive and counted down the days with Makelight Advent.
So what will 2018 have in store for me and my family we will have to wait and see. I'm certainly hoping for lots of positives.

When you look through a year like this, it can be overwhelming to see how good life is overall! Another blogging gift. #fortheloveBLOG
ReplyDeleteLife certainly has had its positives although one negative stands out to me.
DeleteI hope your sugar levels improve. You have had a lovely year filled with lots of wonderful days and activities, I have been decluttering too it must be a January thing. Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime 🎉
ReplyDeleteHi Helena, I love looking back over the year like this as it's easy to forget positive things that may have happened. I really must get into the habit of decluttering more, I am a bit of a 'just in case' hoarder. I remember reading your Camp Wilderness post, I can't believe it was back in March! That is scary!... I'm sorry to hear about your blood sugar levels. I'd hate to do a blood test now as I love sugar and have really over done ti this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy and Healthy 2018. Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
xx

I love reading posts like this, it's so lovely to look back on everything that has been achieved in 2017. I especially love your photos from Windermere, it's a place that I love to visit, too...but I don't get there nearly as often enough as I'd like. Thank you for sharing my blog post and I hope that you have a great 2018 xx
ReplyDeleteAh I went to blogCampOnBoard, it's in my hometown and was a great day. We ended up doing 2 Gruffalo Trails as J loved it so much #ShareYourYear
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very happy 2018! We love our local Gruffalo trail and I keep meaning to check out the one at Westonbirt, as I remember the forest there from when I was little. Camp Wilderness sounded amazing, and Windemere is on my list for our family travel plans - we went there pre-kids and loved it and I want them to see it all as well. I hope your sugar levels stabilise this year and you can get them under control. Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
