Time to Rest {The Ordinary Moments}

Looking at this photo of my daughters cuddled up together on the sofa you may be lulled into thinking these are two chilled out children. But once they've spotted the camera their playful nature soon springs into action and they revert to their active ways.

Time to Rest {The Ordinary Moments}

Running around they are like two mini whirlwinds set to make mess and lots of it. Their own toys get scattered around the floor constantly only to be tidied away by me. I like to have a place for everything so imagine my frustration when hubby doesn't get this! The other day in the time it took my Dad to do some structural work on the house upstairs the girls had me going round after them at least twice only for him to come down and see a mess! I feel like I'm under house inspection when my Dad comes over and he expects the place to be tidy despite it not being his.

Even when we are out my active girls will have me almost torn in two. One goes one way while the other is most likely headed in the opposite direction. At Christmas I attended church alone and while one was trying to take to the stage the other was in the belfry! Last night we were at their Great Grandparents where Great Granddad's cd collection was being de-alphabetized! Paper airplanes were
 being flown across the room to catch and coloured pencils were being gathered up by the youngest to my eldest daughter's frustration.

But would I have it any other way? No. My girls may be crazy active and youngest may appear to do The Mad Hatters dance (The Futterwacken) like a cheerleader but they sure are lovable and just being kids. As long as they are having fun and are safe and well then party on babies. xx

  1. They do look rather chilled in this picture though! #TheOrdinaryMoments

  2. I've learned to save the tidying until the end of the day now - otherwise it's just an invitation to get everything out again and it ends up messier than before! Mind you, Max is a whirlwind just on his own, I dread to think of the mess once Ben is able to join in properly. Maybe I'll have to rethink my strategy!

  3. I do wonder where kids get their energy from sometimes! But I sure do love them for it ❤️ #theordinarymoments

  4. It's nice that amongst the chaos they can take a moment to rest - even if it is just a moment! x

  5. I used to love those days, no-one expects a house with toddlers to look clean and tidy. However, when you have three between the ages of 7 and 12 you'd think they'd tidy up at least a little by themselves! And I get what you mean about the husband, mine throws everything into a toy box, I found the hairbrush in their this morning!

  6. Oh I love that quote at the end - never a truer word said. Mine are also whirlwinds and like you I wouldn't have it any other way. I live in hope that they will start to clear up on their own soon xx #TheOrdinaryMoments
