It's been ages since I last wrote a siblings post about my daughters so I decided it was about time to do another one.In fact a quick search shows that the last one was written back in March 2017. Nearly a whole year has passed since then and lots of growing - for one they are both on their feet.
Sleeping has never been a problem in terms of they usually crash and sleep straight through. However, while they used to sleep through their feeding times too if left to their own devices! They wake up when the sun rises. Of course that doesn't stop their mum from worrying about them and with every little rustle, squawk, squeak that they make during their night's rest I'm easily awoken wondering whether it will lead to more. A lot of noise usually means something's wrong such as a nappy issue, teething or someone has tumbled out of bed! We have recently taken the side off of the toddler bed now. Whether we put it back or not only time will tell. One thing is for sure though our youngest doesn't want to stay in the toddler sleigh bed that's for sure! Our youngest certainly knows what she wants and doesn't at any time and we certainly know it! She demands cuddles a lot during the day and wants to fall asleep in your arms rather than the bed!
At 18 months youngest still thinks she can eat the world! I can't recall eldest thinking she could do the same for so long at the same age. This has led eldest and I to have one on one time while youngest has her midday nap. Together they devour what's in the fridge and continue to have a love of fruit. In fact nothing much has changed since the last siblings post it seems regards food and drink except their Daddy introduced them to chocolate over Christmas!
For Christmas my eldest got a camera and is happily snapping away anything and everything while her sister has yet to go for a ride on her bike poor thing.
The girls also got a bigger kitchen than the one they had and they have thoroughly enjoyed playing with the wooden and plastic food we have bought to accompany it. We gave the kitchen a little makeover with marble effect paper and a pink hearted one. We love it.
Growing
As you can see from the photo we took at Christmas there's not much in terms of height between our daughters and hubby discovered that they also weigh the same. While youngest eats and doesn't have a stop button it may appear our eldest is a snacker. Both are incredibly active and eldest has been walking to and from toddler group while her sister who tends to walk in the opposite direction if let loose ends up being carried to and from. She'll often fall asleep in my arms on the way back or her nappy will be stopping her from getting comfy. Her sister on the other hand usually asks to be carried too but there's no way I could carry them both at the same time. Eldest has been potty trained for a while now so it's usually a dart across the village to get to the potty in time too!Sleeping

A little while ago we also decided to buy a bigger shelving unit to house all their toys and it has been rather effective in doing so. However, little hands have got hold of many of the orchard toy games we own and the puzzles and these don't stay in the canvas boxes or together in their own box for very long!

Everything going well obviously. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThey both are so different just like my two, but also perfect. Lovely update #familyfun

ReplyDeleteAwww what lovely girls you have, you must be very proud X #thesatsesh
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely update and it is so lovely that you get some bonding time with your eldest when the little lady naps. I'm hoping this will happen once the twins get a little older and have their naps and Ben drops his naps completely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!

That camera is a big hit in our house too! Sounds as though they are both doing really well. My two are fruit lovers as well. Thanks for linking up with us this week. #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteI love looking at my two and seeing the similarities and differences - your two sound like they get along so well! We love our play kitchen too and that camera - both firm favourites. I'm desperately trying to carve out the one-to-one time with my eldest during naps, but it's a struggle at the moment - I just need the baby to actually sleep a bit more! Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
ReplyDeleteOh I love reading these posts and actually it could be a good thing to have nearly a year gap between as you can see how much they’ve grown. Well done for taking the sides off the cot off! I am dreading that day. Claire x #BigPinkLink
ReplyDeleteLove that camera, it looks so fun! We are considering taking the sides off our eldest' cot but I keep putting it off! #fortheloveofBLOG
ReplyDeleteI adore the sibling relationship and watching my two together melts my heart. The kitchen has always been a well loved toy and I can't see that changing anytime soon. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
ReplyDeleteThey are so similar height-wise now, aren't they? I have a similar thing with my youngest having a better appetite than her sister and she's now the heavier of the two! Love that your eldest is enjoying using her camera :-) #siblingsproject

ReplyDelete#thesatsesh I totally love how you don't put your kids faces in posts, I don't either. He can't make that decision and its his face...Im an only child with an only child so siblings fascinate me. Seriously, these posts annually will make a wonderful keep sake.
