“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
by Kahlil Gibran
Yesterday we grabbed a baguette and ham from a local supermarket and headed out to some woods. It seems like an age since we last went out for a big walk but little legs don't like to venture far.
Our youngest particularly loves to be carried around in our baby carrier. Usually she falls asleep to the movement of our bodies as we rustle through leaves, pass over a bridge and meander our way round well trodden paths.
Our eldest on the other hand is happy to walk for a fair bit but at times has to be encouraged to keep going with games of tag. She gets frustrated that her little sister gets carried more than she does and wants to be carried too. So often she ends up being carried too. She also has a great imagination for example she thought the pill box was a castle.
So though we may not travel far 3 miles is about enough for us all these days. We continue to learn about the world in which we live and the people who inhabit it.
Where have your legs taken you?

It's lovely getting out and about at this time of the year isn't it? #MMBC
ReplyDeleteIt sure is although wrapping up warm is definitely one to remember
DeleteHaha, lovely photo peeking through X #pointshoot

DeleteThis time of year is perfect to get out. we went (by car) to the local woods for a walk saturday, even though it was raining, the trees protected us a bit! Love the peeping out of the pill box shot. Thank you for linking up to #PointShoot 📸
ReplyDeleteYou're right that trees make for good coverage for a while. My hubby had fun taking that one.
DeleteGeocaching sounds so much fun, never tried it but great way to get the kids out in the fresh air! #pointshoot
ReplyDeleteYes it certainly is fun for the kids and keeps them going. I have to remind hubby that eldest may like to uncover their logoflages.
DeleteAwww how cute! We love getting out on walks, we are super lucky to have so much gorgeous countryside around us. As yet we have never been geocaching though, but looks good fun! Sim xx #PoCoLo
ReplyDeleteAh you really ought to it's lots of fun.
DeleteThis looks like such a lovely day out - and I don't blame your littlest for wanting to be carried, she looks so comfy! x
ReplyDeleteIt's great to get out and about and throw off the cabin fever
DeleteHi Helena, it's great that you take your girls geocaching, even if it's not as far as you would like. That pill box does look very much like a castle.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
xx
Hubby and I used to walk miles and I'd ambitiously try and merge series together too sometimes. I love her imagination.
DeleteWhat a lovely idea, and beautiful photos too! #PointShoot xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa
DeleteI think three miles is a good distance for all sorts of adventures. Such a sweet photo of your eldest looking through her castle window. #MMBC
