With Halloween lurking just around the corner. I thought I'd take a look at what Oxfordshire had in store for visitors and residents to the area this spooky season.
First up is a Bogeyman Slime Making Workshop at The Story Museum which we visited over the Summer. Great for those who enjoy the book and making mess as you make your own slime.
Sticking with central Oxford then why not find out about Bats, Cats, Witches and Charms in the Pitt Rivers Museum and try out a back pack full of activities.
Over to Henley now where The River and Rowing Museum will be putting on a family fun day about Magical Monsters. There will be a chance to get creative and listen to scary stories.
For those in the north of the county Banbury Museum has you covered with their Spine Tingling Banbury event. There will be scary tales, a spooky trail to follow and the chance to create clay witches/wizard hats.

Farms
Of course Halloween can also be seen celebrated in the countryside too as many farms have got in on the action.
Fairytale Farm will have you on the look out for Fairy Tale Baddies and Spooks
Adam Henson (famed for being on Countryfile) has transformed his Cotswold Farm Park into Halloween Land for everyone to enjoy.
Cogges Manor Farm near Witney is also entering into the spirit of things as they host Pumpkin Day where you can weigh your own home-grown pumpkin.
Something Different
If you are looking for something different than why not head to Waddesdon Manor where you can take part in a spooky orienteering race.
While Oxford Castle Unlocked have their annual Ghost Fest with things to entertain all family members.
What event will you treat yourself to this Halloween?
Whatever you choose to do this month keep safe and have a great time. This post has in no way been sponsored by any of the above companies. I just love to research what's on for keeping the kids entertained.
Pitt Rivers is one of my favourite places to visit, especially around this time of the year. Always spooky. My children prefer the Natural History side though. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween but with no kids I get to eat all the candy that I don't pass out! #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteFun post! Thanks for sharing. #bigpinklink
ReplyDeleteHalloween is a favourite event in my daughter's calendar and she starts getting excited months in advance. Our house is always bedecked with all things ghoulish, there is a party with lots of spooky games followed by trick or treat and a suitably scary movie. Each year as she gets older I hope it will start to tone down but halloween seems to be one of those events that transcends age! Sounds like Oxfordshire has some great events on. Have fun. #mg
ReplyDeleteHalloween is really starting to gain popularity here in Australia, but it is still strange as we ate in Spring and it seems to suit Autumn better. My children are obsessed with making slime so they would be so into going somewhere to make slime. Thanks for joining in with #mg linky this week xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot going on! I wish we lived nearby!

We enjoy Halloween and there looks to be some great local events about - there's some fab ones in your area. Su #mg
ReplyDeleteOxfordshire is one of my favourite places to visit! My inlaws are there, so I will look up some of these places and activities, if we drop by there during half term! We took our children to a pumpkin festival on Saturday-it was very crazy, very random, but so much fun! Thanks for sharing with #bigpinklink!
ReplyDeleteOxford Castle Unlocked sound intriguing and we love ghost walks. Shame we don't live nearer! Popping over from #familyfun #dreamteam
ReplyDeleteOoohhh loads of cool events happening where you are! At the moment I think our plan is to just do the school Halloween party. But your post has inspired me to have a look and see if anything local to us is happening. Thanks so much for sharing with the #DreamTeam x
ReplyDeleteAh there is a lot going on in your neck of the woods. We're going to a playgroup party...that's about it. I am not the biggest Halloween fan and the kids are still quite little so I am sure it will be enough for them. I hope you enjoy and thanks for sharing at #familyfun
ReplyDeleteSounds like there is lots to do in your area for Halloween! #triumphanttales
ReplyDeleteEwhat a fantastic list, stuff for everyone. Very useful for anyone in the Oxford are :) #mmbc
ReplyDeleteI swear my town is the only place that has f-all on this halloween!!! even our fireworks display is shrinking every year!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back tomorrow!
Hi Helena, Oxfordshire has plenty going on this Halloween. Wadesdon Manor & Oxford Castle Unlocked sound like family fun with older children. And are we ever too old for a bit of slime making?
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
