Confined to tight spaces is not to everybody's taste I imagine. How about being locked in the room until you find the right code to let you out? By now I am sure you are thinking one of two things bring it on or no thank you! Still this is one of the wonderful activities that you will find at Château Beaumesnil.
Château Beaumesnil was created between 1633 and 1640 by Jacques De Nonant for his wife Marie Dauvet-Desmaret replacing the old castle there. If you are a lover of food than this is a must see as it traces the history of food and has a number of different activities in place surrounding nourishment as you travel from room to room.
Fun With Fine Dining
Once upstairs we tried our hand at how to arrange a table setting. Then we moved on to next door where we had a go at folding napkins ready for a meal. The napkin is provided on your entry to the Château along with a folder full of information on the property.
Coco Chanel Room
The last room that we visited was devoted to Coco Chanel and the scents that went into creating Chanel N ° 5 inspired by her lover the Grand Duke Dimitri. We had to search the room for clues which led to smelling the perfumes and putting them in order to release the door and escape. We loved hunting down the clues but when it came to smelling the bottles on the side found it difficult to distinguish which was which. Fortunately for us the door was broken so we were able to find freedom easier.
Cooking Classes for the Kids
Don't forget to visit the outside too where there are a few animals to visit, book binding machines to be in awe of and well manicured gardens. Château Beaumesnil is certainly a treat for all the senses.

ReplyDelete#thesatsesh okay confession time, when ever we go out for dinner I always recreate the napkin arrangement. lol..easily pleased, i would stay in the napkin room all day....plus I would attempt to slide down that stair case, so AnE on the way home would be essential.

Oh this sounds wonderful! I do love the chateaus, from the run-down ones to the wonderfully refurbished ones with activities like this, they all have their own little character quirks and are well worth a visit.
