What’s Easter without a spot of egg decorating? I've lost
count of the amount of eggs my eldest has broken so I thought paper ones would
be better for her to decorate. If successful it would make a great thank you
card to family relatives who’d provided the girls with chocolate Easter eggs
and bunnies this year.
The first thing that we did was to find a piece of paper (you
could use card instead) and folded it over to make a long rectangle shape. Then
I folded it up like an accordion making sure that the edges of the paper met
each other. As you can see I let eldest have fun on the floor crayoning on the
paper on a folder before cutting out an Easter design on the paper and moving
her and the project to the desk. I didn't mind my daughter crayoning on the
floor but whatever we are interested in our youngest wants to play with too and
she tries to eat everything!
This is what it should look like when the card is unfolded. Eldest then had great fun applying a variety of different coloured glitter glues and crayons as you can see.
Keeping wet wipes nearby is definitely a good idea and helping them to apply paint to their fingers instead of letting them do it themselves ensures you've
lots left for other projects. As for my eldest after doing lots of finger printing she looked like this.
What Easter activities have you been getting up to recently?

ReplyDeleteLove this and marginally less messy than broken eggs! All good clean fun though and a wonderful effect for an Easter thank you card. Glue, glitter and crayons are perfect for egg decorating. We stuck some decorated paper eggs on to Easter bonnets last week, may be I'll try this one next year.
