Following last week where I felt I was rather productive.
This week I've been exhausted and feeling increasingly tired throughout the
week. For many mothers I'm sure tiredness and babies come hand in hand but how
do you know it’s that and not Diabetes playing up?!
It could also be due to it getting dark early and my eldest
daughter is very much one for getting up with the sun. On Tuesday she decided
that she would stay up once Daddy had gone to work on an early shift! We still
went to toddler group though as we’d aimed to meet up with a friend of ours. On
arrival I was asked whether I needed tea as I looked like I needed it and my
eldest looking a little drunk tired, while baby slept in my arms.
Talking of baby she has decided that she’d rather not sleep
through the night after all and wakes us up every three hours! I'm wondering
whether it was my fault in part as she’d started sleeping through until I lost
my rings and kept waking up fearing they’d gone to the rubbish dump!
Whatever the reason I'm wondering whether I need to shake up
how I do things choosing to write posts on pen and paper before I go to bed for
instance and taking photos first thing in the morning instead.
How do you cope with exhaustion?
Sounds a challenging week, as it's always so hard to function when you are tired. I hope you have a more restful weekend and better week next week x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

DeleteI have type 2 as well Helena and some weeks it totally wipes me out and I have to take a nap in the afternoon, I don't think these dull days help as they make you feel more like curling up in bed. I hope you start to feel a bit better soon.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you they do. Sorry to read that you experience type 2 as well.
DeleteOh no, being exhausted is horrible...I always feel more tired at this time of the year. I blame the change in the weather. I hope you feel better soon x
ReplyDelete#WotW
The weather is awfully cold here and dark.
DeleteAw it's really hard when you have been used to sleep that's what I find! I often think getting out and about in the morning and keeping busy and chilling in the pm helps. Hope it passes xx #wotw
ReplyDeleteThat's a great way to spend the day.
DeleteI do remember the early days of a newborn, with older siblings. It is tiring. Thank goodness for other people who recognize that and offer a cup of tea when you need it. Give it time and take care of yourself too.Easier said than done! #wotw
ReplyDeleteYes I tend to put their needs first instead of dealing with my own first.
DeleteOh, exhaustion is a horrible thing. I don't know what can help, but when I was dealing with a toddler and a baby I would just say to myself THIS TOO SHALL PASS over and over again. I'm not sure if it helps, as when you're right in the middle of being exhausted it's all you can think about. I did have a phase of when the baby napped, I'd get the toddler down and we'd all sleep together. Sod the housework, sleep is way more important. I co-slept with my baby at night too which helped a huge amount, but I know that's not for everyone. I hope it doesn't last for long!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your suggestions. I like the idea of all snuggling up together.
DeleteOh poor you! It's tough having little ones when the clocks change. I really hope you manage to get some rest this weekend #weekendblogshare x
ReplyDeleteI'm unsure whether its the clocks or not.
DeleteHow do I cope with exhaustion? hmm good question, I dont really. I tend to cry alot when i get over tired like a small child. However i do take bee pollen tablets every day and these really help with my energy levels I just love them. Hope baby strats sleeping through the night for you soon x
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of bee pollen tablets they sound interesting.
Deleteoh its such a hard time when you are coping with little ones and feeling so tired. I remember just getting through the day, I also remember both the boys suddenly stopping to sleep through and its a nightmare as you think you have cracked it then you right back to stage one! Hope you have a better week xx
ReplyDeleteThey sure have their own agendas from day one.
DeleteHi Helena, I feel for you, really I do. Feeling exhausted is a horrible feeling, especially when you have to carry on regardless. Having older children, I can say that I don't have to deal with the same level of exhaustion as when they were small. I do get the odd days when I am so tired I cannot think straight, but that's usually down to poor sleep. When that happens, I get through the day and head to bed early, hoping I sleep right through.
ReplyDeleteIn a few years your little ones will be sleeping right through (I promise. Getting them out of bed may prove problematic!). Until then hang in there. You aren' ton your own.
Thank you for linking up with the #MMBC.
xx
Thank you for the tip. Heading to bed as soon as darkness sets in sounds like a good idea to me. Thank you for being so understanding and reminding me I'm not alone.
DeleteSounds like you needed a rest, take care X#wotw
ReplyDeleteI sure did. You know I nearly went for the word 'snowball'.
DeleteExhaustion is so hard, and you're right, it is hard to pinpoint the reason when there are several possibilities. Ultimately though, you need to rest and catch up when your body tells you (and when your children allow!). Hope you feel better soon. #WotW
ReplyDeleteThank you for those wise words.
