Finding Fun on a Ferry

As the sun rose we made the last adjustments to our packing before picking up our girls and popping them in the car. The journey was going to be a long one as we were driving from England to France but we hoped that the girls would sleep most of the time. For the majority of the journey this was exactly what the girls did.

Our crossing with Brittany Ferries saw us being entertained on board by Pierre Le Bear whom my eldest daughter took a shine to. In fact I felt I had to hold her back before she got on stage with him! There was also a disco on board the boat, a magician, hook a duck, a soft play area and cinema with all the latest films liking 'Finding Dory'. So there were plenty of things to keep the young ones entertained.

Once safely on dry land in France we decided to take a look at the seaside. Being the first time on the sand coupled with over-tiredness our visit was short lived sadly but this meant more time to stop and seek out geocaches. You know by now we are addicted and love to explore places via them right?

Then we hopped back into the car and continued the long car drive to Normandy. As we were nearing the end of the journey it was clear the eldest had had enough of being cooped up in the car. She’s very nearly grown out of her current seat and despite her height doesn't weigh enough to go into the next one. So as you can imagine she was thrilled to be freed from her car seat and was excited to meet her French family.

How do you keep your babies entertained on long car journeys?

Oh and if you were wondering what happened next to Pierre Le Bear. He (like many other children) has returned to school, having driven the boat safely back to England. His piano lessons with  ‘I Am The Music Man’ have also been going really well.
