What to Look for When Buying Baby Clothing Bundles

If you are unsure whether you are going to have a baby boy or girl and have chosen not to find out till their birth than a gender neutral wardrobe sounds a great idea right? Fast forward to the birth of your little one and as soon as you know their gender then you may be keen to add more gender specific clothing. This was the scenario we faced with our baby daughter and what we did about it.

Our little girl has brand new clothing hung up on the rails and two clothing bundles from newborn to 12 months were added to the mix. Now when it comes to bundles I have experienced clothes from really lovely and barely touched to a clothing bundle that I really wish I hadn't bought.

The first a lovely bundle offered on Gumtree was a delight to sort through and put into my girl’s wardrobe while the other bundle received from a fellow Facebook user was really awful. The clothes were very worn and many of them had to be thrown away as they had stains on them! Both of these were delivered to me as I couldn't drive when I got home and even if I could and wanted to my car was at my parents’ house.

The clothing rail in the cupboard is sectioned off by months by my diy dividers and everything from dresses to cardigans are hung up there. Below are all her games and toys displayed in age order and under that the baskets all have the remaining clothes that have yet to be hung up. There’s one basket for vests, another for sleepsuits, tops are in a different one and the next basket features her leggings/trousers. This is repeated again with the following age range.

Would I get a bundle again? Quite possibly but I would urge people to have a proper look at the state of the items before they buy if they can. Often the seller will display photos of their products laid out for you to peruse but sometimes the photos aren't that clear so it's always worth seeing them in person. Then you can feel how worn these items are and whether there are stains or none at all. Babies rapidly grow through the first year and many clothing items are barely worn before they've outgrown them. So sometimes the gamble of buying a second hand clothing bundle can really pay off saving you lots of money.

Whether you decide to take a risk and buy a bundle or attend an NCT sale instead you could save a small fortune.
