Living Arrows – 14/52 {2019}

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
by Kahlil Gibran

On Sunday we headed into Oxford via bus with the intention of heading to the Natural History Museum. It seems like it's been an age since we were last there - before Christmas and this time we were back to see more of the museum and the adjacent Pitt Rivers Museum. We had a great time examining the cases and tracking down eggs. Of course there was a lot of learning too but I'm sure this will pass over the girls heads.

There was also the chance to examine some specimens up close (including a 30 year old hot cross bun said to rid people of their colds) and do some arts and crafts. I am finding myself taking little steps back and letting eldest do increasingly more for herself. She did a great job in decorating her mask and cutting it out. This is something I have found with games at home too as I let her do the things I would have done. Like reading out she has a Mummy rhino and her sister is to find it's baby. Youngest on the other hand is very patient and waits for her turn to be announced and I end up refereeing.

Both girls were very active in the museum searching out the eggs and youngest who is still slightly poorly with a cold fell asleep in the car on the return journey.

What have your Living Arrows been up to this past week?
