What's in Our Girls Christmas Eve Box #Blogmas

Most of December I have been joining in with Blogmas with prompts set by Naomi over at Me Becoming Mum. When I have finished I aim to make it into a December Daily full of memories and love. Something that I will enjoy creating and perhaps a kind of heir loom in the making. Today's prompt is 'What's in the kids Christmas Eve Box?'.

One tradition that I don't recall having as a child but one that I've discovered since becoming a parent is the Christmas  Eve Box. I think this is a great addition especially as it's one that will wear out the kids energy so that they'll sleep through the night right?!

I picked up this beautiful white wicker hamper with red lining from a charity shop and have added a range of things to it. I'm pretty sure that I have put enough into this box that many of the things will make an appearance for a few years to come. I can understand why people opt for a December box rather than a Christmas Eve one.

So what's in the Christmas Eve box? Well many of the things present in it are things that could equally make an appearance in a busy festive Christmas kit. I have placed activity books, arts and crafts, Christmas Eve books and dvds in it. I also picked up a Christmas tree light that you usually see at Christmas events and their seasonal Santa sacks and stockings are hidden at the bottom. Of course I couldn't resist the ducks that a charity shop was selling as part of their brand new range. It is one of the words that my youngest can say so I think she will be thrilled by them. I've also got an elf door and Santa key so Santa can make an entrance.

Do you celebrate Christmas with a Christmas Eve box or hamper?

  1. What a fun box. We didn't have a Christmas Eve box when the children were as small as yours, but I can well imagine it helps on the most exciting evening of the year. Now they are older, we do give new pjs, a book and a little figure of chocolate. It makes a lovely evening. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and happy new year! #MMBC
