10 DIY Christmas Gift Ideas #Blogmas

I've always been a fan of homemade products and have tried to create a variety of things myself over the past. I tried creating costumes for dolls when I was little and have even made candles for loved ones too. More recently I have turned my hand to making things for the girls. I adore handmade things and they most certainly are made with love.

Here are some gifts that you can make for your loved ones this Christmas and aren't going to break the bank.

Take a few cards and add them to frames. You could choose greetings cards, frame photos of the family or place gift bags inside. Even fabric or wall paper scraps could fill a frame.

Similarly if you have pieces of scrapbook paper and components like buttons you could make something like this in a deep box frame. Last year I mounted a piece of Poundland decoration in a deep box frame. I have taken this out of storage again this year and it's such a beautiful piece.

Of course you could also put a puzzle in a frame. I have this in my youngest's room but you can get other jigsaw puzzles that have other images on. How about mounting a jigsaw which pictures unicorns, dinosaurs or a world map. Alternatively some shops have festive jigsaws such as The Snowman which would look lovely framed.

Now to something a little more challenging. Pick up a needle and thread and turn seamstress. I've made patchwork Christmas stockings in the past, attempted a patchwork quilt and upcycled some cushion covers.

Talking about upcycling I turned a dress into a bag for my girls. Outfits and accessories make lovely gifts especially when love, time and effort have been involved.

If painting is more your thing perhaps you could make some story stones or simply paint some stones to adorn a window box or garden. Talking of paint you could decorate a tshirt with a fun motf.

Talking of paint you could decorate a t shirt with a fun motif. How about a penguin or reindeer for a festive vibe. My eldest is pictured here modeling one I made.

Alternatively pick up some air dry clay, cookie cutters, paint and glitter  and create some decorations. I loved adding these to the tree this year with a little ribbon.

Cookie cutters could also come in handy for creating reindeer cookies which could be given to a bird enthusiast.

Finally if you are in need of a present for little ones maybe a personalised Santa sack could be the perfect gift for them and something that could be brought out every Christmas Eve.

I hope these 10 diy's have inspired you to make something truly unique and full of love this festive season. Don't forget if you get in a knot with your knitting or struggle with your sewing. There are a number of creatives willing to help you out too.

  1. I love handmade gifts! They just seem that little more special. I have crocheted a few gifts for relatives this year.
