As the darkness descended on the palace and the moon danced in the night sky. A family of four wrapped up nice and snug were lucky enough to be invited on an illuminated trail around the grounds of Blenheim Palace to see how they celebrate Christmas.
Each illumination had us stopping in awe and looking upon it in wonder. The highlight for my girls I think had to be the toy factory we stumbled upon. I wondered whether something was about to pop out but we had to wait till later on in the walk for us to see the elves and Father Christmas.
A long the trail were an array of food stalls set up for those who fancied a bite to eat and the chance to pose and take a selfie with photo frames. However, the smells had no doubt brought on the girls desire for dinner time and a snack just wasn't enough to satisfy my two! Youngest also has been teething on and off. So we sadly had to rush past a lot on the way back to the car park and drive home for dinner and bed time.
We really enjoyed Christmas at Blenheim Palace and feel that the experience really has got us in the Christmas spirit this year.

The Courtyard
Stepping into the courtyard of Blenheim Palace this Christmas it's hard not to get caught up in the magic of this festive season. For an enchanting old fairground lies before you with horses prancing round their merry go round and a helter skelter invites you to slide down it. Suddenly you have a feeling you are not in Autumn any more but fully bathing in the warm light of Winter. The Illuminated Trail
Passing through the gates you soon find yourself on an illuminated trail following snowflakes scattered across the well trodden accessible paths. Perhaps you find yourself wondering who may have walked here before you. In the light of the moon you notice the trees lit up in a variety of colours and hear music heralding in the season. Each illumination had us stopping in awe and looking upon it in wonder. ReplyDeletesounds lovely, it is hard here in Australia to take young children to see lights as it gets dark so late and makes for very tired children. I think Christmas in winter seems so much more magical. Thank you for sharing your post with #ablogginggoodtime
