Word of the Week: Vulnerable

I've been questioning whether to write this post this week or not. I'm sure with the politics going on across the pond and perhaps things going on closer to home for some a lot are feeling vulnerable right?

For me I've certainly been questioning what type of world we are growing up in and to what extent can I really protect my babies?

I'm not going to go into politics here but having watched the proceedings in America via the news; I can understand why many people have chosen to take to the streets to march.

Closer to home I have been wondering what type of neighbours we are going to get. Will they have dogs that will break into our garden like a former neighbour’s dogs did?

And having discovered that someone who bullied me at secondary school has moved to the area should we still attend toddler group?

I’d love to wrap my babies up in cotton wool and thoughts of escaping abroad have not been far from my mind this week at all.

Have you ever felt vulnerable? What did you do about it?

  1. We all have those times when we feel vulnerable, though thankfully, I have not felt so for a while. Toddler group with the old school bully? If you feel up to it, you go and show her that she is not winning this time! #weekendblogshare x

  2. Aww! Bless you! Sending love and hugs! It is a worrying time with everything that is going on in the world...I am trying not to let it worry me until it is something which closely effects me or my family.
I wouldn't let the bully put you off going to the toddler group. Be brave and keep you chin up x

  3. No one should been vulnerable especially in their own home or neighbourhood and really sorry you feel this way. Hopefully you have some strong friends & family around you who can help give you that protective hug to ease away any concerns. As for politics across the pond, I think it is quite scary - we live in uncertain times.

    1. The toddler group is a lovely one so it would be awful for one person to ruin things

  4. Oh no, sounds like you've had a worrying week. I do hope you find out who your new neighbours are soon and that puts your mind at rest on that front. It's hard when you can't control factors around you and your kids, isn't it? Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  5. Sending hugs. Feeling vulnerable is horrid. I think we have to take one moment at a time. Enjoy now, especially as you have two beautiful babies there. It makes us stronger to cope with whatever the future brings.

As for the bully, she may have grown up and changed. I would give her a chance, especially if it is a group you enjoy going to. #wotw

    1. Thank you. I think you are right about taking one moment at a time. The group is lovely and the eldest gets lots out of going.

  6. Have to admit I am looking at potential escape routes overseas. Worrying times for sure but there are always good people with the right intentions so surround yourself with them. By the way, bullies often are not lifetime ones - I know it is hard to give them a chance but you may well be surprised

  9. I am sure that no matter what the political landscape all parents have always worried about what the future will hold for their children, and I am sure that they always will. So don't feel badly that you are worrying about this, it is totally natural and normal. As for the toddler group, I hope that your ex classmate doesn't appear and if they do, perhaps they will have grown up and be nicer now.

  10. Yes you should go to toddler group, hold your head high lovely lady and you never know they may have turned over a new leaf or at least grown up and will hopefully be ashamed of their actions. But do you know what, you did nothing wrong so have no reason to not go. And as for politics lets hope it all comes good somehow, there is so much good in the world to outweigh the bad and that is exactly what I am focusing on at the moment x
